Bonnie McHugh, RN

Bonnie is the founder of Bay Nurse Assistant Program and has been employed in the healthcare field since she was a teenager. Bonnie started her career as a candy striper/volunteer in the hospital at the mere age of 12. Bonnie became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1966, and then shortly after became a Registered Nurse (RN). Bonnie has worked in both long-term care and acute care settings. She has worked in the intensive care unit, burn unit, critical care unit, neurology unit, and emergency room in the hospital. She has worked in a long-term care unit as well for several years. She is Train-the-Trainer, ACLS and Neuro Science Certified. She served as part of the cardiac arrest team for several years. In 1991, Bonnie began teaching the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Program at Bangor Township School District. In 1997, she opened Bay Nurse Assistant Program and has been teaching the CNA program ever since. She has a wealth of knowledge in the nursing field, and it shines through in her teaching and instructing with the students.
